MECCANISMO D’AZIONE
Blocca al 70% l’enzima 5α-reduttasi tipo II che trasforma il testosterone in diidrotestosterone, forma attiva tessutale e responsabile dell’ipertrofia prostatica, riducendo in 6-12 mesi del 25-30% il volume della ghiandola
INDICAZIONI
- Ipertrofia prostatica benigna
- Alopecia androgenetica
CONTROINDICAZIONI
Controindicato nelle donne
POSOLOGIA
- Ipertrofia prostatica: 5 mg al giorno, sono necessari 6-12 mesi per stabilire in modo obiettivo se e' stata ottenuta una risposta favorevole, se no ci sono miglioramenti, il farmaco deve essere sospeso.
- Alopecia androgenetica: 1 mg una volta al giorno. In generale, sono necessari tre a sei mesi per vedere i primi benifici. L'uso continuato è raccomandato per mantenere il beneficio.

INTERAZIONI
EFFETTI COLLATERALI
Può determinare, nell’1% dei pazienti, disfunzioni sessuali quali riduzione della libido e del volume dell’eiaculato, impotenza e ginecomastia.
